Ascanio de' Mori

Ascanio de 'Mori (1533-1591), military man and aristocrat (descendant of the noble Da Ceno family), was a writer and official at the court of Mantova, where he befriended Torquato Tasso and became part of the Accademia degli Invaghiti in 1562. In 1585 he published his best known work, fifteen Novelles with a philosophical-moral content, dedicated to different characters of the time.
