Andrea da Grosseto

Italian writer and scholar (Grosseto, thirteenth century- ?, ...) Not much is known about his literary work or his life. He studied in Paris, where he taught literature and the art of poetry. In 1268 he translated Albertano de Brescia's moral treatises from Latin into the Italian vernacular, and is considered by some to be the first prose writer of the Italian language.
